We are developing a research project in which the main objective is to assess the different participation dimensions in the projects, in rural areas, regarding the touristic sector. We would like to develop a methodology based on different dimensions of participation and on different process indicators that are going to used for monitoring and evaluation activities.
There are some publications regarding the participation in festivals (event tourism)

Greetings Elena, I am not sure what you mean exactly by "participation". If you are addressing this as a psychological concept, you may want to look into the "involvement" literature. In other words, the psychological involvement that links a person to an activity or product. You can find several references about involvement in tourism and recreation contexts in my list of publications. Let me know if you are interested in some of those articles. What I meant with participation in tourist activity is related to (i) individual decision to be involved in a community development project related to tourism, and to (ii) the analysis of participation (using social network analysis) among the actors that are involved in the project (in terms of group dynamics). So the individual and collective vision of the participation concept.
