Found in a Miocene marine marly sample, roughly 0.4 mm, 20 pics stacked.
Locality: Tlemcen, Algeria.
Hi
Might it be a piece of plant cuticle ? The tip of a coriaceous leaf with involute margin ? The surface looks patterned, any stomatal cells ?
Marc Philippe it's an idea! you can notice the edge and how furrows are symetrical. At the center, a hypodermic needle tip shaped-like form, more like a glande for secretion!
Marc is right! it is a piece of vegetal organism, most likely the edge of a seed.
May be consolidation of marly sediment.
I agree with the vegetal origin of the sample, seems like a seed or a capsule
the origin of this debries probably is from chitinous material?
The tip of a fossilized date ?
Do you show other side (lock like opal - pseudomorphosa)?
I have a response variable called skin yellowness, which I will measure via a scored color chart, whereby 1 is pale yellow and 15 is orange. I'm not sure if this counts as an ordinal variable,...
