Dear Zaal, I am using it. The main advantage is that, unlike scopus or ISI researcherID, it is a free, open database. But if you have an user ID from either scopus or ISI, you can transfer the information to ORCID and viceversa, so in this case creating an ORCID account is not time consuming.  You can also add other information (projects, etc). For this you can only get the info automatically from a few funding agencies, so this is may take longer (I haven't done). I think it is worth to include yourself in all these databases in order to improve the visibility of your work.

I agree with Juan Pedro Ferrio, but researcherID as this tool is free.you can not use scopus freely , but ORCID however connected to scopus but is free and can improve visibility of your publication as well as connection to other researcher. other benefit of ORCID is auto connection and auto update with  researcherID in dual way.
