Some say using AI is so important today. Some believe creating a connection with classes' topics and trend/popular themes among students. What do you think?
This is an example of how I used a famous song in sociology class:
It is a new assignment for my students after the chapter of "Socialization and the Construction of Reality." Listen to the song of "The Sound of Silence" and check the lyrics, especially the following part:
"...And in the naked light I saw, Ten thousand people, maybe more, People talking without speaking, People hearing without listening. People writing songs That voices never share, And no one dare Disturb the sound of silence.
"Fools", said I, "you do not know Silence like a cancer grows, Hear my words that I might teach you, Take my arms that I might reach to you." But my words like silent raindrops fell And echoed in the wells of silence."

Now, analyze the poem according to the concepts we've learned in socialization chapter!
It is an excellent discussion topic, and there is not only one right answer, but one possible explanation could be like this "It is trying to warn people about what would happen if everyone was silent. It is a reminder to stand up for your beliefs and not to give into things that make you unhappy or cause you harm. It refers to people doing everyday things, but just doing it because they were told to. They are told to listen to what is written on the subway walls, and to praise those neon gods. They are told to be silent and to keep to themselves. When the dreamer tries to change that and teach the people that there is more to life than those gods they gave power, no one listens."
I have used an e-learning platform to 1) ask provocative questions and 2) solicit real-world examples related to each week's lecture or textbook material. This has evoked frequent responses from many students, including those who rarely if ever spoke up in class.
using AI in class seems an unusual endeavor since except our IT units no one has access to real AI... but I do use Blended approaches: befor a ftf session, my master classes (organizational psyhology) have to answer reflective questions, embedding themes into their everyday experiences. Additionally they have to read at least one journal article beforehand. In ftf sessions I use Kahoot as an online voting tool with prepared questionnaires - easy meal in terms of psychological issues. Well prepared group works and frequent short breaks are another way to avoid permanent smartphone-use or snoring students...
- The use of means to motivate students and diversify the techniques of activation and work within the classroom.
- Commitment to use active learning and effective communication
- Starting from simpler strategies such as writing lessons and moving to more difficult activities
- Use various stimulation and stimulation methods as video clips to engage students in the lessons directly and keep them attentive throughout the lesson.
Subdividing the class into smaller groups and engage them in fulfilling a task, as well as in negotiations helps build the necessary team-spirit. This soft skill can only be acquired through practical experience, and student love it.
I fully support Stuarts answer. And in order to get an inner feeling, a real impression of collaboration hand out to the ppeople a manual task so that they have to perform a handicraft work. (Have a craftsman or an artist with you and them.) Collaboration grows through practical experience as Boris told us.
