Dear Dr. Zarour, I am not entitled to judge on details of the development process or its outcome, but it is well known that the Siemens Healthcare GmbH:s medical imaging software development has high CMMI ratings and follows an Agile process. CMMI assessment has been performed by an independent auditor. Product derivatives are registered as medical device software, yet the main product is a combined hardware/software medical device - being incorporated in most of Siemens'  medical imaging products and workplaces.  This imaging platform is what customers see as the primary user interface of Siemens' medical imaging modalities (various XRays, CT and MRI). Software development is mainly focussed on SCRUM and is also conforming to applicable medical device standards like e.g. IEC 62304. As a summary one may conclude that it takes medical imaging domain experience, experience in medical device regulation and standards as well as good SCRUM masters to build a product like that. Customers do not see the CMMI results, nor the Agile process but they see that new features are being offered quickly and reliably - on top of a huge image acquisition and -handling UI that provides the same look and feel over a wide range of imaging products. As a former medical application programmer I can say, that it takes time, skills, enthusiasm and a strong team to combine Agile and CMMI into a good software product ! regards, Georg

Dear Dr. Zarour, I have several stories successo the use of MR-MPS (the Brazilian model based on ISO 15504 and 12207 and compatible with CMMI) with Agile (Scrum, XP, FDD) em brazilian business and evaluated officially.
