After exhausting all employment options in Atlantic Canada, I’m finally ready to move out of it. Yes, I’m willing to relocate anywhere in Canada or US. I’m looking for academic or industrial positions (mid-senior to senior level).

I have 20 years of academic and industrial experience in biomedical optics and spectroscopy, biomedical imaging, fiber-optics, photonics, near-field optics, plasmonics, nanotechnology, telecommunication components, microwaves, semiconductors, materials science, student supervision, multidisciplinary team management, consulting. Can build anything in a lab from scratch and teach others how to do it.

During my career I’ve been involved in conducting research, product development, planning experiments, model building, data analysis and interpretation, writing scientific publications, delivering presentations at multiple meetings and conferences, project management, people management, competitive technology analysis, market evaluation, feasibility studies, University and College teaching.

My most recent research project has been on developing minimally invasive fiber-optic techniques for characterizing biological tissues and organs, preclinical research on optical imaging, diffuse optics, gold nanoparticles in tissues, identification of localized optical inhomogenieties (Au NPs, voids, malignancies etc.) deeply embedded in bulk turbid media (liquid phantoms, biological tissues, prostate) via minimally invasive interstitial radiance-based fiber-optic techniques; monitoring optical properties of tissues for diagnostic purposes.

Open to any interesting offers and discussions. Very flexible in time and space.
