I really do experience stress nearly every day. I am lucky practicing yoga. I practice nearly every day and rather like the mental approach as well as the asanas. Two times a week I manage to go for 5km jogging.
I too had sudden increase in blood pressure levels and also noticed behavioral changes in my children as i was unable to spent effective time with them.
I did Stress relieving breathing exercises. I also started saying" NO" to any extra works. I felt it was time to listen to your body. And I realized as the famous saying goes" If health is lost, all is lost".
