Do you believe that researchers truly try to change their approach to their methods or do they take a path of least resistance and continue their methods the same way they did in the past in their careers?
Yes Dr Dennis Mazur, though researchers visit their past as a reference and a guide for the current work but only to correct their wrongs and/or improve the method. Every researcher dreams of a new method and this motivate to adopt a new approach. Doing the same thing at all time and expect different result is just an imagination. Thanks.

Dear, a researcher must be dynamic, meaning that you must be ready for change if the need arises and be open to new ideas and methods. It must not be the usual method provided the new approach will give the best discovery and solve a problems the research is trying to address.
Researchers must be inventive and questioning new areas and blending them.
