Do you agree that neuroeconomics can be a valuable field, but not the way it is being developed and “sold” now. The same is true more generally of behavioural economics, which shares many of the methodological flaws of neuroeconomics.
that neuroeconomics .....? I think it is another way of wanting to give "scientific" support to consumer theory and its assumptions of rationality, perfect information and market, since this paradigm is in crisis
In my opinion neuroeconomics covers a wide range of subjects, from economic behaviour to psychology to social behaviour to neurology. In coming days it would get more atttention specially in management.
As research area it is in development (progressing) and beyond it, the Behavioral Economics in same way. However they already have make and Will do significant contributions for economics
And although I agree agree that neuroeconomics can be a valuable field and agree with you that it is "scientific support, covers wide range of subjects, essential and progressing" still I could not get related answer about "selling behavioural economics under the name of neuroeconomics". In short, I wonder answers about "selling idea". Which firms use it to sell more today or who support this idea ?
Study of economics and other social sciences benefits from systems approach, for example as described in Alexey Voinov's "Systems Science and Modeling for Ecological Economics" 2008. Neuroeconomics field is an example of "...holistic, integrative, cross-disciplinary analysis" (p 25).
