The soul, which is not of this world, can never be satisfied with the goods of this world. However, we are ethically 'allowed' to take a part from the 'goods', by honest labor and effort, which are necessary to maintain our biological existence in this world. Human happiness can only be achieved by the study and action of the laws of harmony or the divine blueprint of reality, i.e. balancing health and wealth towards perpetual bliss. A global predatory economy is definitely not the social system to achieve this ethical level.
Yes I agree that external achievements and monetary wealth can not constitute true success, nor can they guarantee happiness.
But, still majority of people follow the path of unhappiness as giving more importance to worldly success and achievements.
Someone has rightly said money is not everything in life, but life is nothing without money. The person who is running shortage of money is having his own problems and is not happy. Achievements make a person happy for the time being.
I think external achievements and monetary wealth constitute true success. If we talk about happiness , happiness is a choice it cannot happen without our wish.
All depends on mindset.
Some people give highest priority to earning money and purchasing happiness by that money.
Some people want to get high chairs by hook and crook.
But a few people give morality the highest priority in life.

The definition of success is highly relative. To some it is accumulation of large quantities of wealth or fame or power. To others it is the inner satisfaction arising from creativity such as scientific work, art, music, etc. The latter group may or may not be interested in accumulating wealth but cherish their pride in their work or creation as well as wield some power because of the fame associated. In the end it boils down to who's happy and why are they happy. Some may be happy because to them it is success no matter how they obtained the money - perhaps by trammpling ver others? Others may be content with what they have - they may not even know what success is or seek it purposefully. A few may do their daily living doign good deeds and their "duty" and not expecting anything in return. Will you define them as successful? Thus, the answer is not simple. It highly depends on the individaul.o
Yes, I agree. This world and everything in it are temporary. Money or any other sort of wealth can't guarantee happiness.
