can you please define 'developing countries' more in detail. Besides teaching at university (b2b eCommerce, eAuction, social media) I am a MD in a large industrial company and we have introduced eCommerce very successfully for industrial goods in Germany (international sales), China and Brazil. India is in planning.
(search for SindoPower via Google).
Generally the mistake in B2B is to overestimate the website. It is about 10% of the work. Rest goes into a working logistics system (which includes local shippers with capability to import), payment (usually by invoice or pre-paid via bank transfer in B2B), customer care (in B2B you talk much more to customers), and central sales & acquisition activities (in B2B customers usually do not come to you by accident - you have to acquire much more).
Feel free to post more or write directly. I have also power points on the issue.
Yes, dear Dr. Ra`ed. Why not? I think that the infrastructure in developing countries is available. “Website following B2B business model sells its product to an intermediate buyer who then sells the product to the final customer”.
While “Website following B2C business model sells its product directly to a customer. A customer can view products shown on the website of business organization. .. Website will send a notification to the business organization via email and organization will dispatch the product/goods to the customer”.

It all depends on the commodity of exchange. If the transactable volume is Huge then it can be B2B, where the second B is an organization; which procures materials for its conversion.
In case of B2C, where the C handles requisites volumes as a consumer of the purchase.
In a e-com market, the vendor who hosts a e-com site, is usually a Trader. The reason why the Manufacturer keeps away from marketing is that "such activity" is not their core competence. They only see to that they concentrate on "Stocking or refilling the shelves"
Example : "Xiaomi is proudly announcing that it sold out its entire first batch of Mi 4 smartphones in exactly 37 seconds."... through FLIP CART in INDIA
Actually some people are thinking of opening a business in Jordan, but not sure if B2B or B2C could work well. Any experiences really will be so appreciated.
I think it is still early to implement e-trading models (both B2B or B2C) in developing countries. We need: 1) the merchants to learn using computers & navigating the internet. 2) fast internet. 3) guarantees for delivery of high quality goods or products. 4) A law which is activated if there is any cheating on both sides.
