Net Zero
Following the adoption on the set of ethical principles relating to climate change and the clean energy transition by 195 countries in 2017 declaration, why is that, so far, not even 1/20th of the total targets remain to be robust enough to terminate the climate emergency towards advancing sustainability, despite, more than 2/3rdsof global economy have released Net Zero targets?
Is it because ‘lack of clarity and coherence’ towards quantifying, validating and broadcasting on Net Zero targets?
Whether the existing regulations, financing structure, corporate enterprises and the investors require ‘a new set of laws’ towards ‘licensing necessities’, ‘bidding strategies’ and ‘policies’ in natural resource sector towards accomplishing ‘coherent’ results – by not only considering the transition-related targets, but also, simultaneously considering the Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) aspect as well as Human Right Standards towards the development of natural resources?
If Net Zero becomes sensitive enough towards dictating Natural Resources Law (in the near future), then, do we have an Effective Risk Management Structure, which would require an advanced understanding, not only on the critical aspects of Natural Resources Law, but also, on the way, the already executed guiding principles of Natural Resources Law keep changing with space and time (in a given country) resulting from Net Zero targets?
