Now I understand Ilhem, what you are asking about. This question is now more clear for me!

You should know that primary production - I mean Gross primary production is consisted from organic matter of the body of producent, and dividing cells, from organic compounds dissolving in the water - like organic acids - and the gas form of ether origin! This is the mst hardly calculated compound but it is congruent with dissolved carbohydrates and acids, esp in situation with hyper-production - blooming of green & blau-green algae!

Flagellates are the same. In large concentrations three ways of gross primary production will appear.
