What's your Turing Test for semantic memory? I've been in a nagging debate with my lab and more recently at Georgetown about what qualifies as semantic memory.  I argue that symbolic representation is critical and that since only humans really have this capacity we are the only beasts that have semantic memory.  I certainly acknowledge that non-human animals have the capacity for thought and categorization but semantic memory -- no. What's your Turing Test for semantic memory?
