To be accurate, i know that fore and hind gut are concerned with moult as they are continuous with external tegument of insect. Those parts are covered with cuticle, and ecdyses induces several phenomemon including secretion of digesting fluid and separation of epiderms and cuticle. I suppose that feeding and nutriment absorption does not occure during ecdyses. Especially, concerning mosquito larvae, i imagine that they can't feed before and after moult, and that a larvicidal product as Bti (that larvae ingest) is not efficient at those moments. am i right ?
