I'm writing a chapter on medicinal plants and their merit in prevention and treatment of diseases. So I'm mentioning more than a dozen of phytocompounds and retrieving their structure form PubChem Server in order to use them in my script. Apart from citing PubChem, do I need to take permission from the depositor of those chemical structures to avoid plagiarism?
No, you don't need permission to draw the structures yourself, but you should reference the papers that originally describe these structures and biological activities.
