Dubai is the biggest hot spot for IT solutions and cloud computing and Dubai Internet City is the Middle Easts biggest zone for IT firms. Microsoft and HP have their headquarters there.
Increase in Cloud Computing Predicted in Middle East! "According to a recent Xinhua article, cloud computing is predicted to expand dramatically in the next few years in Gulf countries. During a recent conference in Dubai, vice president Patricia Florissi at EMC Corporation explained that large data storage solutions were in high demand in the Gulf countries. Some news about cloud in Middle East follow. "Aliyun, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba, announced today that it has signed a joint-venture agreement with Dubai-based holding company Meraas to bring it services to companies and government organizations in the Middle East and North Africa."
"...Alibaba’s cloud business will look for local partners in foreign markets. No timetable was given on when the upcoming data centers would open. The business took a step earlier this month into the Middle East market by establishing a joint venture with a Dubai-based company called Meraas."
