Generally bonsai plants are used for decoration. It is prepared using a technique which retards its natural growth. So what about its phytoconstituents? Do they contain proper amounts of constituents?
There is little if any reason to expect the qualitative composition of bonsai plants to be any different from their wild counterparts. However, quantitative differences are likely, although not necessarily as a consequence of dwarfing but rather because of the natural intraspecies variation among populations and among individuals due to the interplay of genetic and environmental factors.
