I am currently driving research Using Biographical Methods and parents' life stories. And I'm looking for work on this object or that mobilizes autobiographical research in the field of parenting.
I think auto-ethnography is suitable method for you as it is self-reflection and writing that explores the researcher's personal experience and story. In qualitative intervention, it gives both self-reference and reference to culture, a form of self-narrative that places the self within a social context. It included methods of research and writing that combine autobiography and ethnography. Hope it will work.
Yes it's just thank you for your reply, I realize that the term autobiography gives a false impression in English, because in fact I am interested in biographical research on parenting. And not to do personal research on my parent history.
So I am looking for information on biographical research on parenting. I leave my question open ... for now as well
I agree with Katherine that narrative methodology might be suitable for your project. You may want to look at the work of Kristin Langellier and Eric Perterson who have written a book on performing narrative. They have also done work on family storytelling which might be of use to you.

I would suggest the paper of D. McAdams & E. de St. Aubin, 1992 "A theory of generativity and its assessment through self-report, behavioral acts, and narrative themese in autobiography", Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 62(6). It is a bit "dated" paper, but I find it interesting the study # 2 "behavioral acts and autobiographical themese". Please note: this paper is closely related to the theory of generativity and it is based on E.Erickson's approach.
I would suggest the volume 3 "Being and becoming a parent" by M.H. Bornstein (ed.) i n(2002) "Handbook of parenting" (2nd edition). Among researches and studies about beliefs, attitudes and knowledges about parenting, several methodologies are decribed. The general approach of the book is influenced by the data , which are collected especially in USA.
I have a book, in which i have described methodological procedures and basis of using Biography in all research and creative fields. Also, i propose a biographical genres taxonomy since the origin of this literary genre, and I develop a descrption of it according to poetical and retorical basis.
Perhaps my Teoría de la Biografía might be useful for your research and your projects. It is writen in Spanish, tough.
