I have been using this for about two years now and have yet to get sick. I use 1/2 tsp baking soda in 8 oz. of water as soon as I begin to feel the onset of a cold. I do this up to 3 times a day for about two days and never get sick. Baking soda can cause headaches and diarrhea and sometimes dizziness. I have experienced these side effects but they have always been either very mild or absent. You can test your ph. through out the day. Urine ph and saliva will be different. But we are supposed to be at about 7.3-7.8 I think(somewhere slightly above 7). I am not an expert. This is just what I have read and it works for me.

I haven't gotten sick in 7 years. I take 1/2 teaspoon 3 times a day for two days when I feel like a cold is coming on. Making sure that I take a dose before going to sleep. I wake up without any cold symptoms.

The cold and flu germs thrive in an acidic environment. Your body naturally has a ph of 7.4. When you are acidic, you are out of balance, and the cold will get you. Taking baking soda helps you restore that balance. Avoid sugar and alcohol, that makes you acidic.

I beat off a flu bug in about 18 hours that some of my friends had for two weeks or even more. I too believe in Baking Soda, I always get sick when ever one of my kids bring home a cold or flu, and though they shrug it off, I get extremely sick. But the last two years I have Mixed 1 part baking soda to two parts maple syrup at the first hint of a cold or flu and have had very mild symtoms or non at all. So simple but works!

Read about this online about the 1/2 tsp every 2 hours for 6 doses 1st day and so on.....Didn't think it would work because I'd always heard "baking soda for sore throats" and when I tried it I would just do a gargle and spit it out just one time and when it was still sore afterwards I figured it didn't work....Then I ran across the ofificial arm and hammer recommendations online and I was like "OH, you're supposed to actually DRINK it several times a day"! Hi, well, just want to share with both you and your readers...that baking soda is indeed a valuable, natural health tool, but...it is best to use "aluminum free" baking soda not Arm & Hammer. Sorry to say. You can get aluminum free baking soda at any whole foods for a little over $3.00!! It's by "Bob's red Mill".

I have used this BS protocol for the last 3 years. Somehow I have a habit of getting chills and cold or flue symptoms just before teaching seminars. This protocol has helped me getting on track fast without lingering effects. The symptoms are usually all gone on the 3rd day, and I am not carrying residual cough or anything like that. I had a bad cold and I heard about how these pathogens cannot thrive in an alkaline environment and I was tired of getting sick, so I started consuming lots of raw carrots and cruciferous vegetables with every meal, swapped coffee out for green tea sweetened with stevia and lemon/lime, and of course took baking soda. I actually took less than what is recommended above. I just took a teaspoon in a glass of water in the morning and at night. The cold was completely gone in two days. Lemon, Vinegar like acidic food enriched in vitamin C can make strong our immunity, but I don't know these could kill coronavirus or not...

Killing of the virus is an inappropriate term as it has no life in itself. It multiplies by using the host machinary. We can only destroy its protein coat by soap (detergent), alcohol, heat, acid or alkali.
