Dear all researchers,

I would like to have your expertized advices in the multidisciplinary and mutipuposed human skin tissue thickness measurements applied in the fusion digital occlusional studies. I have to know your feasible experiences about the skin deformation tension and EMG effects in the visual extraoral examination in the complex of mandibular movement, TMJ relative movement and occlusional behaviors (dynamics and geometric kinetic), which is fused on the three-dimensional data and tracking data of the oralomaxillofacial anatomy.

As known, the electronic facebow in the digital articualtion has been studied in decades, however the accuracy and practical application of those still questionable and debated. The electro-mechanical and physiological characteristics of the articulated biting-chewing system are not fully interpreted. That is based on the practitioners' experience and diverged/inaccurate due to either the sensoring technology and metrology requirements or the patients compromises to the clinico-practical instructions. There are many relevant indices in the digital dentistry solutions making me confused, such as:

  • The reproducibility of the occlusional instructions implementation of and on patients with doctor's verbal guides versus the patient's understanding implemneting capability.
  • The reproducibility of EMG sensing layout on the facial surface landmarks.
  • The accurateness of the repetitive and simultaneous metrics on the patients.
  • The lackness of systematic studies on the EGABPB (Ethnicity, gender, aging, body-mass factors, physiological behaviors, and biased asymptotic assumption performances) just on the fragmented signals.
  • The fancy versus the practical benefits of the digital articualtion in dentomaxillofacial studies.
  • Thus, I would like to add the extraoral dynamic visual data to verify the bio-physical metrology contributions of the musculo-skeleton structure in occlusionology. The difficulties of the facial is the accuracy of the visual system and the gains of the skin tissue deformation detection in the three-dimentional inverse problems. If that is not available, please explain.

Thanks in advance all the comments and advices.

    Regards.
