thank you very much for your helpful recommendation. Although the model of Rodney L. Custer does not fit to my research design, I can use this paper.

My goal is to develop a technology model, which presents aspects (functional, technical, economical) you have to consider if you want to implement a technology.

I would suggest that you break up those three categories and search for models , dimensions and taxonomies individually.

You can find functional and technical dimensions and models literature when it is narrowed down by industry (you could do a meta-analysis to derive commonalities from the literature). On the economical side you can break it down on whether it is an innovation being introduced into the market as opposed to an established technology.

Doing this 'divide and conquer' will get you more literature to support your proposal.

Not very clear what the technology dimensions refer to, nor the final goal you strive to develop.

However, I can imagine two possible approaches:

1. there were three industrial revolutions and the forth on going; examine the common part and differences among the four will bring to you the model you search for.

2. start with a high-level ontology (DOLCE) and continue with a model of the technology you are interested.

Iliescu Dragos , my final goal is to develop a technology model, which presents general aspects (functional, technical, economical) of an artifical intelligence.

I think that your first approach might be possible - I will look for a useable model of these revolutions.

You got a very large domain to study. I think you should be prepared to:

1. decide over the research domain to be divided into simple pieces;

2. research the simple pieces by (formal) language and concepts, in parallel with modelling; I think the language and concept theories and UML will be very helpful here;

3. demonstrate the identity of results in 1 and 2;

4. imagine your abstract object - the technology of artificial intelligence; create a prototype to demonstrate your research method.

5. refer to 4, construct the configuration model;

6. research for design of your final goal.

7. think on how you can best transmit your results to the audience. If you got success here, then your results are most probable correct.

Take into account that as with other AI cycles this one is still at its peak and may bias your analysis if not careful

However, in my project I see dimensions rather as "aspects"
