What is the best method of Control Strategy for PFC? Is it average current control or predictive control? Cany anyone give the predictive control methods for Digital Implementation of a PFC?
a PFC-Controller has the input voltage of the line as set value. The charge current of the DC filter capacitor is the line current and will be controlled. You need a overlaid voltage controller for the DC filter voltage. The mentioned PFC-Controller for the line current is underlayd. You need not a Model Predictive Control System (MPC).
Thanks for the reply Dear Christian. I need some clarifications as to how to design the control for a PFC if i have various transfer functions for the Boost at my hand. I need to know the criteria to design like How should the Transfer Function of Actual Current to Sensed Current be? Should it have a Unity Gain? If not how much can be the gain and why? I have been facing lot of difficulty with regards to designing control for a PFC. I would like to know in general i.e., not specific to any control IC. With respect to the block diagram i have at my disposal, i would like to learn the design of PFC.
