I am developing and validating a qualitative tool using a mixed methodology. I have received feedback and ratings for the same from 6 experts in the first round of content validation, based on which I have made certain changes in the wording and removed certain items.
I was wondering if I have to get another round of expert validation and feedback. If so, can I reach out to a different set of experts with similar backgrounds? As some of the previous experts are not available.

You pointed to a very important topic: enhancing validity. In case you decide to have a second round, you might want to pick a completely different set of experts. I also would organize workshops with professionals from other industries (possibly from different countries) to discuss mixed-method research validation.

There are other methods that can enhance validity:
1. Grounded in the literature. For example, you might review a questionnaire that has validity and reliability, and you adapt the questions.
2. Piloting and analyzing the questions can be a powerful method. This step checks to see if the protocol is properly structured, understood the way you intended, and produced your desired results, as well as giving you the chance to consider probes, clarifying questions, and follow up questions.

I found my answer in Polit's 2007 article, "Is the CVI an Acceptable Indicator of Content Validity? Appraisal and Recommendations"
This says that a second round with a different panel can be considered, although the authors suggest various advantages of considering the same set of experts for the second round of validation
