Well, one thing that is certainly different is the probing depth. Na 1s appears at much higher binding energy than Na 2s (and Na 2p) so the kinetic energy of the Na 1s electrons is significantly lower. This means shorter mean free path.
To summarize: while analyzing the Na 1s peak keep in mind that you are more surface sensitive than in the case of Na 2s (and Na 2p) peaks.
