I would like to know if I can use vibrating ball mill instead of planetary ball mill to reduce grain size. If yes, which parameters need to be choose? (I know the parameters for planetary ball mill)
I hope the vibrating ball mill you mentioned was SPEX mill. In that case, you can refine the grains using vibrating ball mill same as that of Planetary mill. Since the ball velocity in SPEX mills is much higher than that of planetary, you may need to mill lesser duration in SPEX mills to obtain the similar grain size. The parameters to be chosen are same: milling speed (frequency of impacts), milling time, grinding medium, milling atmosphere etc.
