I wanted to know the major difference between ESCI and SCIE. As I have observed that those journals which gets indexed in SCIE of web of science gets an impact factor. On the other hand, journals indexed in ESCI of web of science do not get an impact factor.
Why is it so? What are the criteria to get indexed ? Why do ESCI indexed journals don't get impact factor?

your question is very interesting and I think you may be you have got a lot of information about it. Let me add my opinion.
Both ESCI and SCIE are the indexing of of the journals in web of science (clarivate indexing ). ESCI or normally EI is the initial ranking after declaration in web of science. It falls in a category of journals that are included in this database (WoS) on a trial basis, that is, they are candidates for full inclusion in the database with an impact factor if these journals will follow correctly the database conditions. After successful trial period it will become SCI or SCIE.
