In some alumimnum alloys, the tensile strenght is higher than the compression strenght but it is reversed in other series of aluminum alloys. Can someone tell me if there is any different mechanism to explain that? Thanks.
I am sending document as an attachment where you will get the basic information. Generally, the compresive and tensile strength depends on both material composition, strain hardening, direction of loading and strain rate in case of AA. These strain hardening and strain rate highly depends on alloying elements.
