Sorry Nick, not clear to what region are you referring to... In Mexico, there has been a lack of records for many years, possibly decades, but i am about to dig information on the species. I'll let you know what I find, and will probably ask you for help. We need to launch a recovery plan for sawfishes in Mexico.

We do get it in India especially in the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra i.e. the North West coast of India. The quantum of the catch has no doubt gone down . You have not specified the region in your question. Would you specify the same ?

In Bangladesh, Saw shark has not been recorded for the last 5-6 years in most of the shark landing centers, it is assumed that this species has been found to be declined in the Bay of Bengal region of the country.
