I want to determine the sodium and fat content in sugar samples. Does someone have any specific protocol?
Do in need to do digestion for sugar samples to determine sodium in sugar?
No need to do digestion. Can dissolve the sample in water and then determine the sodium content.
For fat content, the aqueous extract can be extracted using hexane.
Glucose concentration in which samples?
- blood or plasma the best use a comercial glucometer, you better calibrate it first
You don't need sugar digestión- Just dissolve your sugar sample, may be plasma, urine, serum, or others ,and run a measuremasnt of sodium,or several kind of lipids, like, cholesterol ester, phopholipids, triglycerides

We have been testing Sugar by acid hydrolysis method. The problem we face is the sugar get extracted along with fat and we have false high result for fat. Even after re-filtration, this problem is not solved. I also thought about making aqueous solution of sugar samples and then extraction with di-ethyl and pet ether similar to SBR method. I still need a verified method or publication to use as a reference. Can any body hep me with that please
