I'm working know on fungi isolated from Date palm canopy specially Fusarium spp., their rolls on leaf blight and bunch fading, and their rolls as terminal of diseases on some important crops such as tomato, eggplant, cucurbits ,... vegetating around the date palm orchards in the southern Iran. We know that Fusarium spp. are most important damaging pathogens on many crops and trees, but we have not enough knowledge about impact of Fusarium species on canopy and fruits of date palms.
As you know, all of Fusarium species are siolborne. My second question is:" How do Fusarium species move to canopy of palms and disease that?"
DPRI team has observed and identified Fusarium solani as the causal agent of sudden decline disease on many cultivars of date palm in Khairpur -Pakistan.
All of Fusarium species are siolborne, but we have two cases, one root rot disease and two wilt disease. In case one Fusarium infect root only and in case two the Fusarium can infect vascular tissues.
In date palm most Fusarium spp. causing root rot diseases, but in Morocco, Algeria and Mauritania causing wilt disease (Al-Bioud disease).
