My question relates to the figures and diagrams that we make ourselves to be published as a part of the body of our research papers. Do we need to cite them too? If I have made a figure from different texts that I read from different sources, how do I cite it? Or do I even need to cite it?
You don't cite your own figures, but you must refer to them in the text. Yes, you need to cite sources for any information that you did not create yourself :)

The source should be mentioned always and reference to it need to be provided to avoid self-plagiarism.
At the bottom of your figure reference Rahman (and any of authors) and the year of the publication in which you first included your figure. The full reference to that earlier paper will appear in your alphabetized references at the end of your present paper. By including the original source of your figure, readers who may have questions about it may gain greater understanding by learning about it in its initial context in the paper in which it first appeared.
