Dried form of flowers are best for their extraction. The best method to dry them is by Shade drying method.

The drying method always depend on what kind of metabolites you want to get. If you want to preserve the metabolites the closest to the in vivo plant, just freeze them in a paper bag to minus -20 centigrades. for 24 to 48 hours and then freeze dry them (lyophilize), and then you make the extraction.

Depending on the species, the metabolite quantity and quality can change due to chemical reactions when the plant is on the drying process, and the best way to stop or delay those chemical reactions is freezing below zero. However if you are looking for the medicinal properties of some flowers you should read the attached file.

 SHADE DRYING METHOD BEST FOR FLOWERS .I had did different form of flowers , fresh fowers , dry flowers ,and powder form of same flowers .and dyeing with alum but getting different shade . dry flowers is the best one also doing same method in difft. vessals aslo got difft, excellent shade ..with excellent fastness propertis ..
