As biological half-life is a parameter for individuals of a given species, the ecological half-life is a more broad and fuzzy concept, since it consists in a half-life within any given compartment of an ecosystem (e.g. soil, water, populations, communities, etc), provided the quasi-equilibrium was reached. Such a broad concept may lead to a myriad of methodologies for its experimental determination. I would like to know more about it.
