If you will have a correct pH of your medium it will be also ok on M-H agar. But you can use MRS enriched with blood or without blood too. The most important is pH of your medium which is suitable for lactobacilli or species of them which you plan to be tested.
I have very positive experiences with MRS (Man, Rogosa & Sharpe) agar and incubation in anaerobic and microaerophilic conditions, depending on the type of lactobacillus I tested.
It is important to add a freshly prepared suspension of lactobacilli to the melted and cooled agar at 44-46 oC (adjust density according to McFarland
