Dear all.In the animal experiment, how many animals are enough for detection of mRNA expression level?

For example, when our lab do experiment with rats, the numbre of rats of each group is at least 8. And, one rat is enough for detection of mRNA expression level , for example, in heart.

My question is that whether the result(repeat at least 6 times) is reliable or not? Or how many animals are enough for this experiment?
