What is in your view the main drive of data publishing?
getting citations on data publication, getting co-authorship if somebody uses your published data, visibility of your research, society interest, founders interest, employer's interest (university, institutes, industry), transparency of research, validity of your own research, comparative research, collaboration .... Please share your view and discuss...

My advice is to check with your Research Ethics Board/IRB first, some institutions do not allow their researchers to release the data.
