Cyanide can be present in soil through geogenic or anthropogenic activities. Cyanide can enrich the soil geogenically through weathering, rock dissolution, and anthropogenically through Artisanal gold mining processes. Cyanide is one of the chemicals used in the concentration (amalgamation) of gold in the process of mining.

Thanks Amadi, how possible in finding cyanide in soil not involved in such activity listed but found in only cultivated soil. Can the dead plant release cyanide to the soil. Thanks
