It is a common thought that due to the nature of ice hockey and the mechanics associated with skating, unilateral lower body strength training exercises have been favoured over bilateral exercises.

I hope to obtain a direction, in understanding the differences between unilateral and bilateral exercises, and whether one mode of exercise is more superior than the other in developing lower body strength in ice hockey players.

A key point to also compare, would be the force-velocity curve and the impact unilateral vs bilateral exercises may have on it, again, specifically in ice hockey players.

Thanks in advance.
