Cuk converter design?

I wanted to how input side of Cuk converter capacitor is chosen, do you know on what basis this PV side capacitor is being put.

I have seen in various inverter (in the industry) they use 1000uF (Aluminum Electrolytic) but they also dont know how and what basis and what are the conditions to choose so. Do you have an idea on this?
