COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization.
Most common symptoms:
fever
dry cough
tiredness
Less common symptoms:
aches and pains
sore throat
diarrhoea
conjunctivitis
headache
loss of taste or smell
a rash on skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes

Dear Meyer. It's a discussion. As you are highly experienced it would be helpful for us if you discuss broadly about the symptoms of all stages.
Ok, one important clinical feature is the Kawaski-like syndrome in young children, but also the neurologiical sequelae in adults. There are many more organ-related symptoms, which can be retrieved from pertinent literature.
The widely distributed ACE2 is probably one of the factor explaining the wide range of symptoms.
The respiratory and the intestinal syndroms being the 2 most frequent presentations. But most systems can be targeted by this infection and the inflammatory reaction it triggers.
In fact, diarrhea could go in your group of "frequent symptoms". In the pediatric population, diarrhea or nausea could be seen in up to 57% of the cases.
Conjunctivitis have also been documented as being the first symptom in some cases.
The endothelial cells also expressing ACE2, vascular inflammation from mostly any organ can be a presenting complaint. It can mimic vasculitis or trigger the coagulation cascade and then cause thomboembolic complications (stroke or pulmonary embolism). Case series of patients presenting with complaints of unstable angina or cardiac infarctus (and that spread the diseases to the health professionals present during the coronarography and stent installation) have been released.
Dermatologic presentation were observed, ranging from the frequent "typical viral skin rash" to varicella-like vesicullar lesions or the Kawasaki-like presentation Dr Meyer just wrote about (Kawasaki being caused by vascular inflammation of an unknown origin, it make sense)

Instead of all you mentioned, there may be no significant symptom in a carrier with "HAPPY HYPOXIA". COVID-19 has been proved as a "SILENT KILLER" in some instances! Everybody must be rationally inquisitive and proactive.
Here's an interesting fact about asymptomatic patients
In Quebec, nursing homes were badly hit during the first wave of the pandemic. As it is subsiding, we are testing residents and health care workers from all the nursing homes.
Last week, in a residence housing 40 elderly and with an equivalent number of workers, no one had any symptoms. However, 5 residents and 3 staff members tested positive for COVID-19.
Asymptomatic carrier seem to be a frequent presentation (somewhere around 20% according to studies like those coming from massive systematic testing like the study about the Diamond Princess cruise ship or the USS Theodore Roosevelt). In fact, in the Diamond Princess study, around 50% were asymptomatic when tested and the authors estimated that 60% of these patient would eventually develop symptoms (mostly mild ones). The data about these patients are not available.

I have not observed discoloration of the fingers and toes, I have observed, (even in me, I had Covid 19) reddish coloration and vasodilation in the whole of the feet and hands, fingers included.
