Environmental, Social & Governance related initiatives are given a new look by the countries and corporates across the world in the recent years. Failing to see the visibility and impact to the society will not give confidence to society at large. Trying to get the feel of its impact in the country you live and how does the ESG implementation by Govt and Corporates help the society. Please share your thoughts.
I live in Malta. My impression is that businesses, especially banks, are percieving this issue as the Governments offloading their responsibility onto the private sector. There are some elements in the private sector that have taken ESG seriously, believing that it is an investment in the long-term sustainability and strength of their business. but i believe that they are very few.
Sekar Gopal Impact so far? Lot's of google adds offering one consultants who for hefty fee would help one create this new document. Discussion in my country (Poland) centers around what are exactly the legal requirements imposed by the EU, not what's the point.

I don't think that even bureaucrats from Brussels believe so, as they made it compulsory. If that had been uncontroversial good business, then it would be elective and popular, not compulsory and met with high level of skepticism.
(I find it fascinating that one did not really run any experiment with assigning some corporations at random to monitor whether is able to demonstrate any positive impact, just one made a leap of faith and made it the law based on wishful thinking)
