Long-term information about density (2005, 2007, 2009, 2011) was collected by other researchers. To my knowledge, their methods were the same, Playback calls are used to incite response from owls. Each point was visited once around May, in each respective year. Short term, we sampled both in Nov/Dec, and then again in May.
