Dear all, Recently I almost decide to buy some GaAsP PMT for Photon counting purpose, H7422pa-40 + cooler, and controller with power supply unit
I knew that the Hamamatsu's PMT are quite good, but it is a quite too old model, and even not a reasonable price for me. (PMT + Cooler + Power supply with temp.controller : more than 7200 dollars)
So are there any good alternatives exist?

Here is a list, but some just resell the Hamamatsu tubes (I think Horiba is a reseller).

Some Hamamatsu tubes may be an old design, but they work quite well. Some designs are difficult to improve upon.

Thanks for your kind answer. I also heard that SPAD or HyD can offer great performance, but it is expensive.
