Genomic and biotechnological studies, as mentioned, using RNA polymerase and RNA are preferred over DNA studies (using DNA and DNA polymerase II) because the RNA polymerase does not need a primer(?) Would a primerless DNA polymerase II not need an an RNA primer.(?)
I am not sure what do you mean by your question, but you can not make any amplification without primers. It is an essential components in any amplifications reaction with any kind of polymerases
I am unaware of any DNA polymerase in the biological world that can function without a primer, whereas RNA polymerases are able to do so. So I am not sure whether what you propose is possible.
DNA pols are chain extension enzymes and not chain initiating enzymes. They will always need a primer to extend further. RNA pols are chain initiating, hence they do not require a primer. Reverse transcriptase, making DNA on a RNA template, also requires a primer since its product is DNA.
the DNA pol family have different subunits some of which are similar to RNA pol (family)( this assumption is made because both DNA pol family and the RNA pol family work on the DNA strand and extend it with same or similar or different method(s)). Biotechnological methods and recombinant protein (and or recombinant DNA, and RNA ) technology could allow us to design such a " primer-less DNA pol."(?)
I wonder if this is the answer you are looking for. Primer less DNA synthesis can be done by the Klenow fragment of DNA polymerase-I, simply by setting the double stranded DNA with the enzyme and its reaction buffer at 37 degree C, but without dNTP, when the 3'--> 5' exonuclease activity starts degrading both strand of DNA from 3' ends. Now to start the polymerase activity, you add the dNTP when the 5'-->3' synthesis start and exonuclease activity stops. Synthesis by extension of chain occur in both the strands. This method dispenses the need for any primer.
