I want to do a quantitative research on the use of social media in the process of closing the house in Covid 19 process. At this point, 'cocooning', that is, maintaining a home-centered life in a crisis will be one of my variables. But I couldn't find a scale about 'cocooning at home'. Can anyone help me with this if they have knowledge? Or can I find out if anyone has different opinions on this subject?Thank you from now.
Majority of people became aware of COVID-19 pandemic on social media when the Chinese doctor initially cautioned his friends. Since information on the virus has spread like bush fire.
What has been the effect of information spread on social media of the pandemic?
You might want to use an established theory in psychology that is flexible enough to incorporate your "cocooning" as a variable. You might want to decide whether this is an independent or dependent variable. For example, if this is a dependent variable, I will look for other variables that will explain how individuals will commit to the act of cocooning such as social norms and attitude towards social media. If this is the case, then I will use the Theory of Reasoned Action and there are alot of available instruments you can use. Hope it helps.
