just to say hello: I am glad to see that you turned your old hobby of butterfly collection into real scientific career. [I still remember the collection trip that we spent together in Colombia collecting whiteflies.]
Ciertamente es una larva de Spodoptera sin embargo la especie correcta solo se podrá saber obteniendo los adultos, que es fácil obtenerlo a través de cría.
Thank you for your help and nice to hear from both of you. I think my specimen is more close to S. pulchella than S. littoralis or litura because the larva does not have the orange dorsal band. I am rearing the larva to get the adult and confirm the species.
Thank you Waheed for your answer. The tobacco caterpillar, Spodoptera litura is found throughout tropical and temperate Asia, Australasia and the Pacific Islands. We do not have records in the Americas for this species.
I had worked on Spodoptera littoralis in Egypt. I am sure this is not S. littoralis because of the dorsal dark spots . It may be theYellow-striped Armyworm - Spodoptera ornithogalli or S. cosmioides . Please find the attached files
