I am currently collecting water samples from River and industrial effluents to determine the contamination level and to know some specific sources of pollution across the Akaki River. the study aims to determine the translocation of pollutants from water to cash crop products irrigated with this river.

Farid Benyahia’s idea is good. But Cd is very toxic to environment.
So, if you have Ion liquid chromatograph (ILC). It is also very useful. Other advantage of this method is, simultaneously you can determine other anions also (NO2,Cl, SO4, F).
If you need I will send all possible method to determine NO3.

Pls. carefully go through Method 4500-NO3-B or 4500-NO3-D. Those may be useful for you. If you need any technical assistance, let me know.
