In the last few years quite many of our climate-change related projects have been developed in the biggest Ramsar Site from Romania: the Danube Delta (actually, this Ramsar Site includes the lagoonary area, too...).
P.S. By the way, the most recent Conference of the Parties was organized by us...
As far as i understand, RAMSAR sites are some of the special sites which receive attention towards conservation and sustainable use of natural resources through national and international cooperation. However what I feel is not only these sites but most of the regional wetland sites could be a potential place for generation of climate change related data. However, in a RAMSAR site it might be easier to get funding and international cooperation for research. Apart from mapping climate change related data, societal transformation could also be mapped in areas surrounding these sites which might also be used as a vulnerability indicator.
Thankyou very much Török and Mahapatra for your valuable answers. Mr Mahapatra I must add one more thing here that Ramsar sites can produce data sufficient enough to claim the intended objective. If these sites have the status of Ramsar they must be the indicative of the natural changes only..
