There is no problem mixing closed and open questions in the same questionnaire. The difference is in the analyses. Most closed analyses can be analyzed with traditional quantitative statistics, either parametric or non-parametric. However, most open questions are analyzed using qualitative methods. The two could be combined if the open questions are converted to quantitative data using methods such as content analysis.

Yes, you can do so and you need to identify appropriate analytical techniques for data analysis. Even, you can deploy more than one technique/procidure for same set of data/responses. In qualitative data you may find good learning experience.
